Purveyors of fossil art from earth's natural past
Dinosaur

Dinosaurs were the dominant terrestial vertebrates on our planet for over 160 million years. They lived from the Late Triassic, 230 million years ago until the end of the Cretaceous, 65 million years ago.

The Cretaceous-Tertiary Extinction of these creatures is considered to be due to a meteorite colliding with the Earth. Unable to adapt to their incredibly changed environment they died out, allowing for the proliferation of the mammalians.

They were a varied group, with more than 1000 species described. They were Carniverous and Herbiverous, ranging from colossal to chicken size.

They grew crests, armour, and horns, and some were the most fearsome beasts our planet has ever seen.

The term Dinosaur was coined by Sir Richard Owen, an English Paleontologist who died in 1892, and is derived from the Greek, Deinos (terrible) & Sauros (Lizard).

Almost everybody is fascinated by Dinosaurs, some of the most wonderful and terrifying creatures that ever lived.
