Antimonite

Product description

A really nice specimen of Antimonite, discovered in Cornwall, United Kingdom.

Antimonite was known to Pliny, the Roman natural scientist, who mentions it in his writings for cosmetic preparation, when it was finely ground to colour the eyelids.

Antimonite is a sulphide of Antimony, which is used to add hardness in alloys.

This is a really nice example and great to add to a collection.
