Apateon amphibians
Product description
Two Apateon amphibians, Branchiosaurus pedestris, from the lower Permian, 263m years ago. They were discovered in softwater limestone, Odernheim, Germany. It is thought that this creature was a precursor of the Salamanders.
They are rarely seen for sale, and the detail is incredible for creatures nearly 300 million years old.
They used to grow to a maximum length of around 9 cms.
It is quite unusual to find two amphibians on the same plate
A very collectable piece.
Plate Size: 34cms x 22cms
