Product description

A good quality Astropyge Trilobite, discovered in Oufaten, Morocco, North Africa. It dates from the Devonian Period, 380 million years old.
 
It was a bottom dwelling sea creature, lying in wait for prey in the mud of the sea floor, and is a distant ancestor of the modern Horseshoe Crab.
 
Many trilobites developed unusual features such as long spines and snouts. This example is no exception
