Product description
An exceptional and large Basilosaurus tooth from a primitive toothed whale, dating from the Eocene Period, 40 to 34 million years ago.
The tooth was discovered in the desert region of Egypt.
It was unrelated to modern whales and was able to grasp and chew its food.
They grew to around 60 feet in length and were fast swimmers.
All Basilosaurus teeth are rare, and particularly huge ones such as this.
In addition this has perfect serrations and a large amount of enamel on the tooth.
It also has the roots intact.
Size: 15 cm long.
