Product description
The Brittle Starfish was a member of the family, Ophiuroides, and these creatures date from the Devonian Era, 416m to 359m years ago.
They were discovered in Taouz, Morocco.
The descendants of these amazing creatures still thrive in the oceans today.
Starfish first appeared in the fossil record in the Lower Ordovician. Commonly they have five arms, but some species can have many more.
They are fragile, and do not normally preserve as complete specimens.
A great display piece.
