Product description
Beautiful, large example of the Gastropod, Busycon coronates, from the Miocene Era, 23.8m to 5.3m years ago. This specimen was discovered in Lacoste, France.
They were a type of large Whelk, and were scavangers & carnivores. They had a file like radula which they used to bore through the shells of barnacles, crabs, and lobsters.
They are still prevalent in the oceans of today.
