Gigantosaurus eyes the next meal
Gigantosaurus
Gigantosaurus
Product description
Here Gigantosaurus eyes up a possible dinner of the large sauropod Saltosaurus.
Gigantosaurus was discovered by an amateur fossil hunter in Argentina. The huge theropod dinosaur dates from 95 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous.
The name Gigantosaurus has nothing to do with gigantic, actually translating from the greek as "Giant Southern Lizard". It lived 30 million years before Tyrannosaurus rex, and was slightly larger, weighing in at around 10 tons.
Gigantosaurus was also longer than the T rex, with a skull nearly six feet in length
