Gogotte
Product description
This Gogotte was found in Fontainbleu France, where the most wonderful naturally occurring sculptures are found. It dates from the Oligocene Period, and is 30 million years old.
Goggotes are formed from quartz crystals and calcium carbonate.
They were produced when superheated water extruded through crevices into a basin of extremely fine white silicate sand. The water was saturated with calcium carbonate (Limestone).
The swirls and eddies of the water were captured in the gradually concreting stone, forming the most wonderful natural sculptures.
These superb gogottes can be viewed today in the Versailles Gardens, France.
Large gogottes can fetch in excess of £500,000, and rarely come onto the market.
A true natural wonder of the world.
It will be stand mounted for the purchaser, as a display piece in the home or office.
An appreciating asset.
