Halysites Coral
Product description
A very good condition, large example of a fossil coral, Halysites, from the Sinaii Desert, North Africa. This coral dates from the Ordovician, 510m to 439m years ago.
Halysites are an example of a coral that were widespread throughout the world. The individual corallites are elongated, growing more or less in parallel, forming distinctive chain-like patterns.
This is an excellent example from a most inhospitable part of the planet.
