Madagascan Nautiloid
Product description
A Desmoceras, highly polished nautiloid, discovered in the Lower Albian Formation, Tulear, Madagascar. This creature lived during the Cretaceous Period, 144m to 65m years ago.
Closely related to ammonites, nautiloids moved through the seas in the same way, using their chambered shells as buoyancy tanks.
Nautiloids still exist in the oceans of today.
This is a very beautiful and tactile piece, and is a terific display item.
