Product description

A beautiful fossil Pecten Shell, from the Miocene, 6 million years old. The Pecten was discovered in Piedmont, Italy.
 
Pectens are known from the Carboniferous Period, over 350m years ago, and still exist in present day.
 
This is a fantastically preserved specimen. Even the barnacles are preserved on the shell surface.
Wonderful for display, or as an addition to a collection
