A beautiful specimen of a sand dollar, or Echinoid, Encope californicus, dating from the Plieistocene, 1.8 million years old.
It was discovered in California, USA.
It has been highly polished to a rich brown lustre, and is extremely tactile.
A really excellent display piece.
