Name:                   Trilobite with 4 Starfish.
Age:                      Ordovician (490 to 443m yrs old)
Fossil Site:               Tauz, South Morocco.
Description:             This extremely well preserved Trilobite is beautifully framed by 4 starfish. This trilobite is one of the largest of the order Lichidia family odontopleuride and derives its name from the dramatic pleural spines.
With their thorny exteriors, starfish have survived for hundreds of millions of years and starfish of this period shared the same characteristics of those alive today.
 
This is a stunning piece of art, sympathetically framed.
The large trilobite is beautifully centred amongst the starfish.
