Woolly Mammoth Tooth
Product description
A well preserved tooth from a Woolly Mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius (Blumenbach), dating from the Pleistocene, 14,000 years old. It was discovered in the Wiskok River, Siedliska/Rzeszow, South East Poland.
Mammoth teeth have very flat grinding surfaces, and they would have eaten grasses and the leaves of low shrubs.
This is a partial tooth in good condition with a great deal of root still present.
A fantastic addition to a collection.
