Large fossil sea urchin, Dickesicidaris turbeli (Lambert 1933). Discovered in Guerssif, Morocco, and dating from the Jurassic Period, 186m to 170m years old The preparation of these specimens is extremely difficult, but in this case the finest details of the shell are preserved. The deposit where they are found consists of hard black limestone, hence the difficulty of preparation. A super addition to a collection.
