Product description
Age: Silurian (400m years old)
Fossil site: Morocco Crinoid beds, N. Africa
Description: This is a large group of camerate Crinoids wellnflated with various cups composed of many stellate plates. Crinoids have graced the oceans for more than 500m years, and are part of a large group of marine invertebrate animals known as echinoderms. They are commonly called sea lilies, because they resemble plants more than animals. Crinoids filtered plankton from sea water and although thought to be extinct, can still be found today at great depths off the coast of Norway.
