Fossil Site:       Albian formation, Madagascar.
Description:     Ammonites evolved from Nautiloids in the early Devonian and are related to todays squid, octopus and chambered nautiloids. Air in the chambers enabled them to float. This impressive set of ammonites are beautifully polished and are presented to display the internal chambers that also contain quartz crystals.
 
They have been framed as a set of six ammonites, for better display.
