Fossil site: Provence, France.

Description: This beautiful group of Pectens almost appear to have been sculpted from the limestone rock in which they were found. Pectens are known from the Carboniferous Period over 350m years ago and still exist in present day. Fossils can no longer be collected form this site so it is no longer possible to obtain these wonderful specimens except from existing private collections.
