View of double crinoid plate
Close up of 120m year old crinoid
Close up of Momarus crinoid
Homarus sea lilly
Product description
Here are two Homarus hakelensis crinoids from the middle Cretaceous, 120 to 80 million years ago, from the Cenomanian Layers, Hajoula, Lebanon. Crinoids have graced the oceans for more than 500m years, and are part of a large group of marine invertebrates know as echinoderms.
They are commonly called sea lillies because they resemble plants rather than animals. However they are animals, and they filtered plankton from the sea water.
This is a very fine piece with good colour.
Could be framed for display if required.
