Superb specimen of naturally occuring Talc
Beautiful green colour
One of the softest minerals
Talc is a naturally occuring metamorphic mineral, and results from the metamorphism of magnesium minerals such as pyroxine and olivine, in the prescence of carbon dioxide in water.
Although we include it amongst the carbonates it can also be described as a Clay Mineral.
Talc is amongst the softest minerals known, and can easily be scratched with a finger nail.
It has been used for many years for the production of talcum powder.
It ranges in colour colour from whie to green.
This particular specimen is green.
A super addition to a collection.
