Product description

A superb and large jawbone from a Woolly Rhinoceras, (Coelodonta antiquitatis), an extinct species of Rhinoceras that was common throughout Europe and Asia during the Pleistocene Ice Age. The woolly rhinoceros was covered with long, thick hair that allowed it to survive in the extreme cold. It had a massive hump reaching above its shoulder and fed mainly on plants plants that grew in the steppe. The Jawbone is large and has superb teeth with dark enamel. This is one of the best preserved and a super specimen. Size: 48 cm long. This item ships from our Madrid office, fully tracked. (MADR1)
